A battle for power rages in the greatest city on earth. Take control of one of the region's four factions and ensure a quick victory. This new turn-based strategy game subverts expectations.
My name is Hayden Plemmons and I am a Software Engineer living in the Denver area. I grew up in Virginia Beach, and the other day while chatting with my buddies from back home I had an idea for the "perfect" game. Uncivilized started as a joke about a Civilization-like game that featured different kinds of people that lived in our hometown; however, the idea sort of grew on me as something that at the very least could be a personal project.
So that's what this is for now. I wrote this web-app from scratch as a learning experience for myself, and I will be developing "Uncivilized" as a learning experience for myself as well. This game idea started as a joke, and right now it is not much more than a personal project for me. That being said, I have some ideas for the game that I think could end up being pretty solid.
~ The Suburban Moms are a manipulative faction with a starting region of Virginia Beach. They don't have much in the way of effective combat units, but they make up for it with their power of persuasion, especially over the Government Faction. Money is no object.
~ The Government is a powerful faction with a starting region of Norfolk. They have very powerful combat units and the ability to purchase enemy tiles through "Eminent Domain"; however, as they become stronger, the other factions of the game will begin to unite against them.
~ The Country Boys are an agricultural faction with a starting region of Chesapeake. Their combat units are average, but they gain combat bonuses when farther away from cities. They'll have no problem producing food, and will be able to sell their bumper crops.
~ The Gangs are a ruthless faction with a starting region of Portsmouth. Their combat units are strong, and they gain an intimidation debuff to enemy combat units. They aren't well liked by the other factions.
